Dr. Gretchen Maynard

Dr. Gretchen Maynard holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, where she graduated with distinction as a Chancellor’s Scholar in 2010. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in 2015, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. While in school, she was elected to join the Tomb and Key Honor Society, as well as the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society. She also received the Illinois Optometric Scholarship for academic performance.

Dr. Maynard has completed clinical rotations at the Edward Hines VA Hospital, Loyola University, and the Illinois Eye Institute, where she received extensive training in pediatric eye exams, glaucoma management, dry eye, and ocular disease. As a primary eye care doctor, she enjoys seeing patients of all ages to solve their complex visual needs.

​​​​​​​Dr. Maynard provides eye care to underserved populations through yearly mission trips to Guatemala with the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. She is also an active member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. In her free time, she can be found hiking, biking, and spending time with her family.
